The Nutritional Sciences Council (NSC) has been in existence since the early 1950s and is composed of nutritional scientists at Iowa State University. The Council promotes nutrition research that emphasizes the development of a strong background in fundamental human and animal nutritional sciences. Graduate fellowship and assistantship stipends are available.

Genome Informatics Facility (GIF)
The Genome Informatics Facility serves as a centralized resource of expertise on the application of emerging sequencing technologies and open source software as applied to biological systems. Its mission is to integrate this knowledge into pipelines that are easy to understand and use by faculty, staff and students to enable the transformation of ‘big data’ into data that dramatically accelerates our understanding of biology and evolutionary processes.

Seed Science Center

Seed Science Center
The Seed Science Center at Iowa State University is a center of excellence nationally and internationally in seed research, education, technology transfer, and international seed programs. It provides a focus for teaching, research, and extension programs on seed in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and it is a global leader in introducing science into policy to benefit world seed trade.

Department of Computer Science

Department of Computer Science
Our undergraduate programs are designed to train computer scientists, information technologists, and software engineers for productive, life-long careers. Such education equips students with a sound knowledge of the foundations of computer science, and problem solving and system design skills necessary for designing and building robust, efficient, reliable, scalable, and flexible software systems. The department offers strong undergraduate programs leading to a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Software Engineering.
