This course provides the information required to train those who will train workers under the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Worker Protection Standard (WPS). It will guide you through the necessary procedures to provide agricultural workers with required information on how to avoid exposure to pesticides and pesticide residue.

Building a Culture of Conservation

The Visit Iowa Farms program is administered by the Value Added Agriculture Program of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. The Value Added Ag Program provides unbiased, science-based information to help establish or expand agricultural-related businesses in Iowa.

Microscopic worms burrowing through cells, injecting foreign compounds through hypodermic-needle-like mouthparts, altering the basic biology of the cells on which they feed.

During the growing season we provide real-time measurements and forecasts for weather, soil water and nitrogen, crop water and nitrogen, yield predictions, crop stage and heat/frost stress. Before/after the growing season we benchmark production, economic, and environmental performance, estimate the yield gaps, and perform what-if scenario analysis to identify management practices with the highest profits and lowest environmental impacts.
